Making Waves
A shimmer of silver. A pop of aquamarine. The iconic shape of the Monstera leaf. These are the elements of Oahu-born designer Kini Zamora’s latest Fall 2022 collection. “This season we were inspired by the Monstera and the large shade it casts in the forest and the malu (shelter) of elegance it exudes,” says Zamora.
The collection features long fitted dresses with matching capes, and camisoles with full, pleated skirts—all made with his signature tailoring and beautiful craftsmanship. For everyday wear, he also offers short and long coverups, bags, and backpacks in the same popular Monstera print in gray, sage green, and nude colorways.
Kini Zamora originally made waves on All Stars-Season 5 of the hit TV show Project Runway, where he showcased his talent to a national audience. Since then, the Halawa native has been a fixture on the local fashion scene. He founded The Clique by Kini Zamora with the aim of elevating and collaborating with local Hawai’i creatives.
His team is available for commissions to make a custom bridal, red carpet, or event design for your special day. “We lead in true Made-in-Hawai’i luxury fashion design,” says Zamora. “We fuse the fibers of our beautiful island culture into each personal connection, project, and piece— enhancing our ever-evolving and elite craft.”
