Their instagram feed is full of inspiration that highlights their capabilities. These days, more couples are looking for “extravagant set-ups”, according to the team at Engaged on Maui.

Proposals can include their marquis “MARRY ME” signage, curated and customized florals, and even a private picnic. For this elegantly styled Maui wedding proposal, Engaged on Maui partnered with Maui Luxe Picnics (@mauiluxepicnics) for a private catered lunch for two. For another recent unique engagement, Engaged on Maui partnered with Air Maui Helicopters (@airmaui) to provide their clients with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A frequent request is to have rose petals or custom-designed florals arranged in the sand or at the proposal location.

We spoke to Daniel Takayama, owner and founder of Oahu-based One Moment Hawaii, who shared that his company has been seeing an influx of destination proposals in recent months, as travel has opened up. “When the pandemic hit, it did take a toll on our business,” he shared, but he was pleased to report that proposals and weddings are in full swing again.

His company offers complete proposal coordination at a series of locations across Oahu, though he and his will travel to any of the other Hawaiian Islands to capture clients’ special moments. He said that most of his clients go for simple oceanside proposals that showcase Hawaii’s natural beauty. But some clients prefers more elaborate proposals that include flowers, family photo sessions before the “ask”, and marquis “MARRY ME” lettering from @designedwithaloha (as seen in One Moment Hawaii’s featured image on this page, and below). His team can supply smaller lettering on the neighbor islands, by request.

If you’re planning to propose this season, you can expect rates for proposal sessions to start at $1,200 for one hour with both a photographer and a videographer. They can capture your once-in-a-lifetime moment from all angles, leaving you to enjoy the moment. At the highest end, an elaborate proposal that includes professional photography and videography, marquis lettering, florals, and chilled Champagne starts at about $2,500.
